The basics
Industrial shrink wrap is a sealed polythene envelope built around plant, machinery or stock and heat-shrunk into one continuous skin. Depending on who you ask it is called industrial covers, machinery wrapping, plant protection or industrial containment. It is used through shutdowns, relocations, building works and long-term storage.
Industrial equipment rarely fails because of one dramatic event. It fails because moisture, grit and airborne contamination work into bearings, control cabinets and machined surfaces over weeks of standing idle, and nobody notices until commissioning. By then stripping and cleaning has usually cost more than covering it properly would have.
Some people search for it as industrial covers, machinery wrapping, plant protection or industrial containment. It is the same process, and it is what we do every week.

A sealed shrink wrap enclosure around a scaffolded blasting zone, positioned immediately alongside the water.
Abrasive blasting throws dust, debris and spent media. Next to water, containment is not optional — the enclosure has to hold for the full duration of the works.

A venue that opens at 6.30pm and closes at 3am does not stop for a scaffold. The wrap sat above the fascia, the scaffold bridged the pavement, and the sign stayed lit underneath.

The method
We walk the asset with your team, agree access panels and service routes, and work through your permit, induction and isolation requirements before mobilising.
Sharp edges are padded and, where the asset should not be touched at all, we build a freestanding frame around it so nothing bears on the equipment.
Film is drawn over the frame or asset and heat-welded into a single continuous envelope with no taped joints.
Controlled heat passes bring the film tight to the profile so there is nothing loose to catch on passing traffic or plant.
Vents are placed for the volume of the envelope and desiccant added where the asset is standing long enough for humidity swings to matter.
Zipped panels and inspection hatches are fitted, the envelope is photographed for your records, and we brief your team on how to get in without breaking the seal.

Longer storage means heavier film, more vents and desiccant, and that changes the number.
Industrial jobs vary too much for a list price to mean anything — the same square metreage costs differently depending on whether we can wrap directly or have to frame around the asset, and whether we can work days or only during a shutdown. We survey, agree the access panels with your team, and give you one fixed number that includes removal.

Every job starts with a survey. We measure it, work out the frame, the film area, the seams and the fixings — and the number you get back is the number you pay. No provisional sums, no "subject to access".

We install industrial shrink wrap from our Isle of Wight base and travel the length of the country every week. It is priced on envelope area, how much framing is needed, access and working hours, and how long the asset is standing. We survey the asset with your team and give a fixed price including removal. Send photos and rough dimensions for a same-day indication.
Yes. Most industrial work is done in place, either directly onto the asset or over a freestanding frame we build around it. We work to your permits, isolations and access windows, including nights and shutdown periods.
The film seals the asset against rain, humidity swings and airborne salt and dust. For longer storage we add vents and desiccant so trapped moisture cannot condense on machined surfaces — sealing an asset without managing moisture creates its own problem.
Flame-retardant grades are available and are normally what we specify for occupied industrial premises and anywhere hot works are taking place nearby. We confirm the grade in writing with the quote.

Yes. Zipped panels and inspection hatches are designed in at survey so you can reach controls and service points without breaking the envelope.
