Overview
Port Solent is a lock-in marina at the top of Portsmouth Harbour with a lot of larger motor yachts on long-term berths, which is exactly the kind of boat that benefits most from a proper framed cover.
It is a sheltered berth, so the covers here have an easier life than the ones at Southsea, but the boats are bigger and the framing is more involved.
Local focus
Almost all marine, and skewed towards larger motor yachts. Flybridges, arches, radar posts and davits all add battens and detailing, and on a 50-footer the frame is most of the day. Being a lock-in marina, Port Solent is sheltered enough that we can often specify a standard gauge where an exposed hard standing would need heavier film — which brings the price down rather than up.
