Shrink wrapped elevations around a substantial temporary roof and scaffold structure, with enough clearance underneath for vehicles, plant, materials and people to keep working.
The challenge
This was not a small scaffold covering. The temporary structure extended across a significant working area with room beneath it for vehicles, equipment and ongoing site operations. A temporary roof protects overhead, but on a structure this size and this open the perimeter needed enclosing too. The solution had to work around an extensive scaffold configuration without taking away any of the space the site was relying on.
How we approached it
Heavy-duty shrink wrap was installed around the scaffold structure to form large, continuous protective elevations. The film was secured to the scaffold and heat-shrunk, pulling it tight across the framework for a far more fitted finish than loose sheeting. Internally the white wrap forms substantial walls around the working area, with the temporary roof protecting overhead — together creating an enclosed space in which the work could continue.
The outcome
A large covered and enclosed working area, combining the temporary roof with extensive shrink wrapped perimeter protection. Scaffold access, working platforms, stored materials, vehicles and plant all accommodated underneath. On a project this size, the wrap stops being a cover and becomes part of the temporary site infrastructure.
