A multi-storey building on a busy London street, wrapped across several elevations and scaffold lifts into one secure, contained working environment.
The challenge
The scaffold ran across multiple storeys and around the full exterior of the building, so the covering had to enclose a substantial working area rather than a single elevation. Being on a busy street, surrounded by neighbouring properties and businesses, there was very little separation between the works and the public. Loose scaffold sheeting on a site like that flaps, works loose and looks untidy within weeks.
How we approached it
Heavy-duty white shrink wrap was installed progressively around the structure, one section at a time. Each section was joined to the next and heat-shrunk into position, tensioning the film around the scaffold framework to give the tight, fitted finish you can see across the completed installation. The wrap carried across several elevations and multiple lifts, forming a continuous barrier along the inside of the scaffold while keeping access open for the trades working within it.
The outcome
A completely exposed multi-storey scaffold turned into a fully enclosed, professional-looking structure, with a clear separation between the works and the Tottenham streetscape. On a site that visible, the clean white finish matters almost as much as the protection itself.
