A longer run, so Devon work is batched. Tell us early and we will fit you into a run rather than charging you for a dedicated trip.
Overview
Devon is the western end of our regular south coast run, and one of the busiest boating counties in the UK: Plymouth, Dartmouth, Salcombe, Brixham, Torquay and the Exe estuary between them hold thousands of boats.
Because it is a longer trip for us, Devon work is usually batched. We come down for a run of boats or a set of jobs rather than one at a time, and the travel line on the quote reflects that.
Local focus
Marine leads. Devon has some of the busiest sailing water in the country, from Plymouth Sound and the Yealm round to Salcombe, the Dart and Brixham, and on to Torquay and the Exe. Winter lay-up covers, refit containment and transport preparation for boats leaving the county by road make up most of the work. Exeter and the Plymouth industrial estates bring machinery and plant work, and old stone and cob buildings across the county need the kind of long-duration weather protection that only welded film really provides.

Getting to you
A longer run, so Devon work is batched. Tell us early and we will fit you into a run rather than charging you for a dedicated trip.
We cover the whole county from our Isle of Wight base, working across Plymouth, Dartmouth, Salcombe, Brixham, Torquay, Exmouth and Exeter. Travel is set out separately on every quote, so you can see exactly what the trip costs rather than finding it buried in a rate.
Before we quote
Every Devon job starts with a survey — on site, or from your photos if that is quicker. We measure it, work out the frame, the film area, the seams and the fixings, and the number you get back is the number you pay.

Illustrative figures. Your Devon survey is carried out on site — or from photos, if you'd rather start there.
Pricing
Priced on the square metres of film that end up on the frame, which follows the profile rather than the footprint.
The frame is often more of the job than the film. Complex shapes and awkward access both add crew time.
Flame-retardant and heavier gauges cost more per square metre. We specify for the job rather than defaulting.
Set out as its own line so you can see it. Where we can batch Devon work into an existing run, it comes down.
We do not publish a Devon rate, because a rate quoted before anyone has seen the job is a guess that gets corrected on your invoice. What you get instead is a fixed price after survey, with removal and disposal included from the start. Most Devon enquiries are answered the same working day, and photographs are usually enough to get a realistic figure moving.

Not every Devon job needs a site visit to get moving. Send a couple of photos and rough dimensions and one of our installers will tell you what is involved — including when shrink wrap is not the right call.

Common questions
Yes, the whole county. Devon is part of our regular south coast coverage and boat shrink wrapping is the work we do most of there. A longer run, so Devon work is batched. Tell us early and we will fit you into a run rather than charging you for a dedicated trip.
There is no Devon rate, because the price follows the job rather than the postcode. Size, framing, film grade and access drive it, and travel is set out separately so you can see exactly what you are paying. Send photos and rough dimensions and we will give you a realistic figure the same working day.
Travel is priced in honestly, but we batch Devon work rather than making dedicated trips. If you tell us early we will fit you into a run that is already going down, which keeps the travel element down.
Yes. Every quote is fixed after survey, with removal and disposal included from the start. We do not use provisional sums and we do not add a "subject to access" line.
All five sectors — marine, scaffolding and temporary roofs, industrial, transportation and aviation. Marine shrink wrap is what we are asked for most in Devon, but the same crews cover the rest, from scaffold wrap in Exeter to plant and machinery in Plymouth.
Yes. We are fully insured and risk assessments and method statements are supplied as standard on every commercial job, along with film certification at handover.
